Buffalo’s recent economic and cultural renaissance has re-invigorated the city and attracted the attention of the entire nation. The city’s incredible renaissance has been covered by nearly every major news outlet, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Katie Couric for Yahoo, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Cleveland Scene (2017) and Travel + Leisure, which recently (2016) named Buffalo as America’s Favorite City; here is the Travel + Leisure Travel Guide to Buffalo.
Read Architect magazine's appreciation of Kleinhans Music Hall designed by Modernist architects Eliel and Eero Saarinen (Oct. 2016 issue) and The New York Times story on the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra (Oct. 25, 2016) with an interview with BPO conductor JoAnne Falletta.
“To envision a city where people couldn’t imagine not having an orchestra, that’s what I’d love to see in Buffalo,” Ms. Falletta said. “Where people, just like they couldn’t imagine not having a hospital or not having a great college in your city, they couldn’t imagine not having an orchestra. That was so much a part of the fabric of life.” “I’ve come closest to it in Buffalo,” she added. “That is a city that in philosophy, personality and history comes closest to making it happen.”
Buffalo is approximately one hour by plane from other U.S. metropolitan areas, including Boston, Chicago, D.C., Detroit, New York City, Philadelphia. Toronto, the largest city in Canada, is just 90 minutes away by car, train or bus. Buffalo is also 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World.”
